Bennington Chamber Music Conference Aug 2-9, Bennington, Vermont

Krists Auznieks selected to be a Composition Fellow at Chamber Music Conference 2015. The Conference invites a Composition Fellow and pairs him with a Composer-in-Residence for study sessions. Each Composition Fellow composes a work for participant coaching sessions and helps coach these sessions along with the Composer-in-Residence. Works by Composition Fellows are showcased in Participant Musicales.

Passing Pieces
for Sandbox Percussion Mar 5, 7.30PM (EST), Sprague Memorial Hall or live stream

The first half of the concert will feature the Brooklyn-based Sandbox Percussion playing new pieces Tiange Zhou, Michael Laurello, Ian Gottlieb, Natalie Dietterich, Brian Heim and yours truly.
The program will also feature two pieces by Bryce Dessner, a Yale School of Music alumnus who has won recognition as a composer as well as for his work in the Grammy-nominated band The National. His string quartet Tenebre was a 2010 commission by the acclaimed Kronos Quartet. His work Murder Ballads, written for a sextet of strings, winds, percussion, and piano, was commissioned in 2013 by the new music ensemble eighth blackbird.

The concert also includes works by fantastic David Lang, marvelous Hannah Lash and fantastic Yale fellows Katherine Balch, Ian Gottlieb and Liliya Ugay. Featured guest performers include the ensemble Antico Moderno and contralto Hilary Summers.
